Eighth grader Clare Cutri-French of the Califon Girl Scout Troop 1018 recently earned her Silver Award by donating a home-made cart full of games, magazines, and DVDs for teens at the Hunterdon Medical Center.  She also spent time creating a booklet of every DVD on the Pediatric Unit so patients have a list to refer to.  Clare had her appendix removed at HMC a year ago and noticed that there was not a lot for teens to do in the hospital.  As a result, Clare collected donations from her family, neighborhood, school, Girl Scout Troop, and Wal-Mart in order to accomplish her goal.  The Girl Scouts of the USA Silver Award is the highest award for girls ages 11-14 and allows girls to build skills, explore careers, gain leadership skills, and make a commitment to self-improvement.
