Hunterdon Medical Center

Hunterdon Medical Center is a 176-bed non-profit community hospital, providing a full range of preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic inpatient and outpatient hospital and community health services.

The Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, an affiliate of Fox Chase Cancer Center, features comprehensive medical and radiation oncology services, early detection and screening programs, nutritional support, genetic counseling, psychosocial support, clinical research and education and support programs.

The Hunterdon Regional Breast Care Program offers education, screening, diagnostic testing, surgery and follow-up care. The Program features the latest technology available in screening through the breast imaging program, which is accredited by the American College of Radiology´s Mammography Accreditation Program.

The Medical Center´s diagnostic imaging services include a state-of-the-art LightSpeed CT Imaging System, x-ray, bone densitometry, ultrasound, MRI, and nuclear medicine.

The Maternity and Newborn Care Center includes 20 private labor-delivery-recovery-postpartum (LDRP) suites, operative delivery rooms and 24-hour coverage by board-certified neonatologists. It is designated by the state as an Intermediate Care Nursery.

A full array of cardiac care services is available, from pre-hospital care provided by paramedics of the hospital´s Mobile Intensive Care Unit, through Emergency Department and Intensive/Coronary Care Unit services, a specialized telemetry unit, and a multi-phase cardiopulmonary rehabilitation program. In addition, our cardiac catheterization suite offers patients a powerful tool in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease.

The Sleep Disorders Center provides a state-of-the-art program to monitor, evaluate and treat sleep disorders in adults.

Through the hospital´s certified Home Health Agency, a full array of nursing and other services are available in the home, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, medical social work, home infusion, maternity and newborn care and pediatric and psychiatric home care.

The Senior Services program includes a geriatric assessment program for those with complex and/or multiple health care concerns.

Hunterdon Behavioral Health offers a broad spectrum of counseling and therapy programs, and is the principal provider of mental health services in the community. Services include individual, family and group therapy; psychological testing; psychiatric evaluations; adult and adolescent Partial Hospital Programs; addictions treatment services; the School Based Youth Service Program and the Family Crisis Intervention Unit.

The Family Practice Residency Program is one of the oldest in the country for training family physicians, and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Seven family health centers, Phillips-Barber in Lambertville, Delaware Valley in Milford, Highlands in Union Township, Hunterdon Family Medicine in Flemington, Riverfield in Clinton, Branchburg in Somerville, and Charlestown in Hampton and Washington offer comprehensive health services to residents in those communities.

The Diabetes Health Center provides education, support groups, blood sugar monitoring, nutrition counseling and fitness programs. The Center is accredited by the American Diabetes Association.

The Health Education Department´s screening and education services include programs on CPR, weight loss, asthma, stress management and diabetes.

The Public Health Nursing and Education Office, a cooperative program of Hunterdon Medical Center and the Hunterdon County Health Department, offers numerous public health education, screening and health promotion programs throughout the community.

The Hunterdon Health & Wellness Center in Whitehouse Station integrates fitness, disease prevention, rehabilitation and health enhancement.

Hunterdon Medical Center is a teaching institution, affiliated with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and a member of the New Jersey Council of Teaching Hospitals. Hunterdon Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
