There are 20.8 million people in the United States who have diabetes. While an estimated 14.6 million have been diagnosed with diabetes, unfortunately, 6.2 million people are unaware that they have the disease. On Saturday, April 5th Hunterdon Medical Center held their 3rd Annual Diabetes Community Fair. The event was a success with more than 500 attendees who learned how to manage their diabetes. Nearly 50 exhibitors featured the latest products and attendees enjoyed informative presentations. Free screenings were available during the event, which included foot exams, blood pressure checks, stress assessments, and Body Mass Index. In addition, dilated eye exams were provided by the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
