Radiation Oncologists
Andrew S. Greenberg, M.D.
Dr. Andrew S. Greenberg received a B.S. degree in food and natural resources (cum laude) from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1981, studied bio-chemistry at Rutgers University from 1982-1983, and received his M.D. degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1987. He completed an internship at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center affiliate Morristown Memorial Hospital in 1988 and a residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in 1991.
Dr. Greenberg joined Atlanta Radiation Care, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1991 as an attending radiation oncologist. In 1992, he joined Radiation Oncology Consultants of New Jersey. He practiced full time at University Medical center of Princeton until October 1999 when he was given the opportunity to become the director of radiation oncology at the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. Since joining the HRCC staff, Dr. Greenberg has overseen the addition and advancement of multiple new technologies.
Dr. Greenberg has authored several publications. He is a board certified radiation oncologist. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiology, Medical Society of New Jersey, Oncology Society of New Jersey, and the Mercer County Medical Association. Dr. Greenberg has been acknowledged in New Jersey Monthly's "Top Doctors in New Jersey”.
John C. Baumann, M.D.

John C. Baumann graduated Magna cum Laude from Princeton University in 1973 and received his M.D. degree from Harvard Medical School in 1977. He completed an internship in internal medicine followed by a residency, chief residency, and fellowship in radiation oncology at Harvard Medical School's Joint Center for Radiation Therapy. He is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and by the American Board of Radiology in therapeutic radiology.
Before returning to New Jersey, Dr. Baumann was the Chief of Radiation Oncology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and trained residents in his specialty while serving as the Associate Program Director of the National Cancer Institute’s Radiation Oncology Residency Training Program. He was also a member of the Radiotherapy Committee of the Gynecologic Oncology Group, a member of the Radiology Advisory Medical Team for the Department of Defense, and was appointed as the Consultant to the Surgeon General for the specialty of radiation oncology.
Dr. Baumann has published papers in leading medical journals, and he has consistently been named in polls of other doctors as one of the Best Doctors in Metropolitan New York and New Jersey and as one of the 100 Best Doctors for Women in New Jersey. He has been elected by his peers to many leadership positions, including President of the Medical Staff at the University Medical Center at Princeton, and he recently completed a term as the President of the Mercer Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Baumann is currently an attending physician at the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center and also serves as the Director of the J. Seward Johnson Radiation Oncology Center at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Dr. Baumann is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Academy of Medicine of New Jersey, Mercer County Medical Society, and New Jersey State Medical Society.
Edward M. Soffen, M.D.
Edward M. Soffen received his B.A. in biology from Johns Hopkins University in 1979 and his M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine in 1986. He completed an internship at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey, and a residency in Radiation Oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
In 1991, Dr. Soffen was certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Soffen has since been an attending radiation oncologist at the Fox Chase Cancer Center and CentraState Medical Center; a Consultant in Radiation Oncology and Endovascular Brachytherapy at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, New Jersey; an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine; and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Dr. Soffen is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiology, the Radiology Society of New Jersey, the Mercer County Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. He is a Board Member of the Oncology Society of New Jersey and the Breast Cancer Resource Center. Dr. Soffen has been awarded the New Jersey Best Doctor Award in Radiation Oncology every year since 1998.
Medical Oncologists
Brian Michael Quinn, M.D.
Dr. Quinn is a graduate from Fordham University and is a cum laude graduate of Downstate Medical Center, having received his MD degree in 1976. He interned at St. Vincents Medical Center in New York City where he trained in Internal Medicine. He then did specialty training in Hematology and Oncology at The Mary Hitchcock Cancer Center of Dartmouth Medical School.
Dr. Quinn has been practicing medicine at Hunterdon Medical Center since 1981. He was instrumental in helping the medical center form the affiliation with the Fox Chase Cancer Center and has acted as the Medical Director of the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center since its inception. He acts as the medical liaison between the Cancer Center and Fox Chase, ensuring all aspects of quality care delivered. He has served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of the University of Medicine of New Jersey at Robert Wood Medical School since 1986. Dr. Quinn is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
Myron E. Bednar, M.D.
Dr. Bednar is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society while at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After completing internships in surgery and medicine, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Specialty Fellowship training in Medial Oncology and Hematology were also completed at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where Dr. Bednar was Chief Fellow.
Dr. Bednar is an active participant in cancer research. He serves as the director of clinical trials at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center and as an advisor for the Fox Chase Cancer Center’s extramural research program. Dr. Bednar and the Cancer Center are involved in research trials through the Fox Chase Cancer Center and the National Cooperative Groups. Dr. Bednar has been published in several respected scientific journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Proceedings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Journal Cancer. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. Dr. Bednar is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine.
Kenneth B. Blankstein, M.D.
Dr. Blankstein graduated with honors from Muhlenberg College and then attended New York Medical College, where he was a member of the national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Blankstein completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital, which was followed by a hematology-oncology fellowship at the combined Temple-Fox Chase Cancer Center program. In 1990, he joined the staff at Hunterdon Medical Center and was instrumental in bringing in the affiliation with Fox Chase Cancer Center and establishing a research program.
Dr. Blankstein has co-authored several research articles published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation and the International Journal of Radiation and Biophysics on hemostasis and lung cancer therapy. He currently is an active member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Oncology, as well as co-director of the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center program. Dr. Blankstein is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology.
Surgical Oncology
Susan McManus, M.D.
Dr. Susan A. McManus did her internship and residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. In 1984, Dr. McManus was named Chief Resident for General Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center, and received the Leon Ginsburg Award for the Best Chief Resident in Surgery.
Immediately upon completion of her residency, Dr. McManus joined the general surgery service at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Saint Peter’s University Hospital, both in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was appointed clinical instructor in Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. She was also appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Dr. McManus limited her surgical practice to breast surgery starting in 1991 and was named director of Saint Peter’s University Hospital Breast Care Program. In that role, Dr. McManus oversaw the Ob-Gyn Senior Resident Breast Rotation and was named James R. Jones Teacher of the Year, awarded by OB-GYN residents to volunteer faculty. In 1997, Dr. McManus joined The Cancer Institute of New Jersey as the Associate Director of the New Jersey Comprehensive Breast Center. In 2002 Dr. McManus joined the staff of Hunterdon Medical Center, serving as director of the Breast Care Program and overseeing Hunterdon’s Family Medicine Breast Rotation.
Dr. McManus has been actively involved with the American Cancer Society Mammography Screening Program since 1994, and has been a member of the executive committee of the New Jersey Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Coalition since 1995. Dr. McManus has published papers in leading surgical journals, and frequently speaks to professional and community groups on a variety of topics related to the prevention, early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Dr. McManus is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, The Society of Surgeons of New Jersey, The American Society of Breast Disease, The Oncology Society of New Jersey and the Association of Women Surgeons.
