Individual Medical Nutrition Counseling

The Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Management is committed to providing quality nutrition education and counseling services to people in our community.  All nutrition programs are provided by registered dietitians.

Individual nutrition counseling is provided on an outpatient basis for disease-related nutrition problems, including:

>  Eating Disorders

>  Food Allergies

>  Celiac Disease

>  Sports Nutrition

Individual nutrition counseling provides the opportunity to plan a nutrition program that will allow long-term lifestyle changes to meet health goals.  Flexible daytime and evening hours are available for appointments.

 

Why Can't I Lose Weight? - A Weight Management Class for Adults

How often has this thought crossed your mind? 
The Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Management is offering a new 8-week program to address issues and situations related to weight management. A registered dietitian will direct the program covering a variety of topics related to weight management and healthy eating including: meal planning, label reading, exercise, balanced meals and intuitive eating.

Class Schedule for Fall/Winter 2008
Session I – September 22 – November 10
Session II – November 24 – January 12, 2009

Time: 6:30 – 7:30pm
Fee: $125, payment is due at the first session

Shapedown Children´s Weight Management Program

A 10-week program offered year-round for children ages 6-18. Shapedown promotes changes in food habits, exercise, self-esteem and weight. The emphasis is on producing changes now that can be sustained in the long run to increase the chances that a child/teen will enter adulthood free from dieting and weight concerns. Smart Cart Personal Grocery Shopper

A nutritionist will accompany clients through grocery store aisles customizing nutrition advice based on personal food preferences and dietary needs.  The nutritionist will provide an individualized grocery list, teach label reading skills and provide information to enable informed decisions about food. 
When: By appointment Monday - Friday. Call for availability (908) 237-6920.
Where: Flemington ShopRite or Stop & Shop.
Fee: $30 per hour.

Weigh to Go

Weigh to Go is a 4 week weight managment group for kids ages 10-14. Weigh to Go is a non diet approach to weight loss that promotes changes in food habits and exercise that can be sustained long term. Classes are provided by a registered dietitian. A parent is required to attend. Please call to pre-register at (908) 237-6920. Classes run year round.
Fee: $90 for 4 week session.

Pedometers

Pedometers are available for purchase at the Center for Nutrition and Diabetes Management.

Cost: $18 each
