MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
In recent years, MRI technology has emerged as an important non-invasive technique to diagnose abnormalities. It is safe and uses no x-ray. MRI provides imaging of the brain, spine, chest, abdomen, extremity, and joint.
Open MRI is available for patients who are claustrophobic, for children, the elderly, or who are larger, weighing up to 500 pounds.
Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) is an MRI study of the blood vessels. It utilizes MR technology to detect, diagnose and aid the treatment of heart disorders, stroke and blood vessel diseases. The procedure is painless, and the magnetic field is not known to cause tissue damage of any kind.
MRA is a very useful way of finding problems with blood vessels and determining how to best to treat them.
