Adult Acute Partial Hospital

The Hunterdon Behavioral Health Acute Partial Hospital provides an intensive outpatient treatment service as an alternative or "step–down" from inpatient hospitalization.

The Partial Hospital treats adults who have been unable to function adequately due to mental health problems, and for whom traditional outpatient mental health services are less than sufficient to achieve stability.

The Partial Hospital is the most intensive outpatient mental health treatment service available. It provides up to six hours of therapy each weekday. Each Partial Hospital patient is evaluated by both Partial Hospital staff and a psychiatrist, so that an individualized treatment plan can be developed to meet the specific needs of the patient. Patients are encouraged to attend all five days. Specific programs are tailored to the needs of the young adult, the older adult and individuals actively preparing to return to work.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program is available 3 hours daily for individuals not requiring acute partial hospital level of care or as a step down service.

Treatment services offered by the Partial Hospital:

  • Psychiatric evaluation and treatment
  • Individual psychotherapy
  • Group Psychotherapy
  • Activity Therapy
  • Substance abuse services for mental health clients
  • Clinical case management
  • Linkage to other outpatient therapies
  • Family therapy
  • Psychoeducation
