The staff of multidisciplinary experts who combine high-tech with high-touch care giving work with the most advanced equipment available to provide diagnosis and treatment to achieve early detection and effective treatment.
Although colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the U.S., early detection and removal of adenomatous polyps can prevent most colon cancers.
Sigmoidoscopy is the examination of the lining of the rectum and entire colon using a flexible fiberoptic or video gastrointestinal endoscope.
Upper endoscopy is used to treat benign and malignant esophageal and stomach disease, and to stop gastrointestinal bleeding from ulcers. Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio-Pancreatography (ERCP) is performed to diagnose and treat problems with the biliary system.
Physicians in the Endoscopy Center also perform Bronchoscopies and Transesophageal Electrocardiograms (TTE). The Center performs approximately 2,600 procedures each year.
